Sunday the 4th of November and the Spurley Hey Vets hit the road again with an away fixture at Ellesmere Port Vets. The coach will leave The Queens at 12:30.

Hallam FC 4 - 0 Spurley Hey Vets

In a hard fought game against a strong Hallam side on their slopping pitch the Vets put up a good performance. Playing for the opposition was none other than Chris Waddle who at times showed some cultured passing and possession. For the Spurley Vets it was a hard first half with the Hallam Vets pushing forward at every opportunity and passing the ball with accuracy. In the second half Spurley worked hard to try and create some attacking moves but without and reward. After the game we enjoyed a few beers and sandwiches in the Plough to end an eventful day out.

In a very competitive game the Vets grabbed the goal that seperated the two teams 20 mins into the first half and made it difficult for the Younger team to get any easy chances. A solid performance from the defence and goalkeeper was almost marred by a late penalty decision given against the vets. A superb save kept the score at 1-0.

Spurley Hey Umbro Cup Quarter Final

Sunday afternoon 27th April Spurley Hey take on a team from Rutland in the quarter finals of the Umbro Cup. After a poor start that saw Spurley 3-0 down at halftime they rallied late in the game to lose only by 4 -2. As the game ended Spurley were pushing for more goals and the clock beat us for a great comeback
